Fine Art Sessions

Telling Your Story in Images and Art

A Fine Art Session is more than a photo session.

It’s a storytelling experience, one that begins with photography and can unfold into photographs, paintings, sketches, and heirloom pieces that live with you for years to come.

This is for those who want something deeper than a single portrait. It’s for those who want to mark a season of life, honor a transition, or create a body of work that reflects who they are and who they are becoming.

A Story-Driven Experience

Every Fine Art Session begins with a conversation.

We talk about your story, your season of life, and what you want this work to hold. Together, we shape the feeling of the session, quiet or expressive, simple or layered, intimate or narrative.

Rather than focusing on perfect posing or performance, we pay attention to:

  • gesture and presence
  • mood and atmosphere
  • movement and stillness
  • the emotional tone of your story

My role is to notice, guide, and translate what I see into images that feel honest, intentional, and alive.

Story Sessions are a collaborative, story-driven art experience designed to help you turn your life, your becoming, and your intentions into meaningful artwork you can live with.

Every session begins with a story, your story. Sometimes it’s something real and tender. Sometimes it’s something symbolic, imaginative, or aspirational. Sometimes it’s a moment you never want to forget. Sometimes it’s who you are becoming.

Your story might look like this:
You’re getting married and want to remember the way it all began.
Your baby is coming home from the hospital, and you want to mark that first chapter.
You want to see yourself as a warrior princess, strong, brave, becoming.
Your daughter wants to be Cinderella in her own fairytale.
Your son wants to be running with dinosaurs in a world of his own imagination.

Your story is more than who you are today; it’s who you’re growing into and where you’re going. In many ways, the art you live with becomes a kind of vision board: a daily reminder of what matters to you and what you’re calling into your life.

Art doesn’t have to be something chosen just to match a color trend. It can hold meaning, memory, and intention. Why choose something off the shelf when you can have something created just for you?

Story Sessions can include conversation and consultation, photography, painting, digital concepts, sketches, whatever we need to bring your story to life in a way that feels true to you, and into artwork you can hold, hang, and pass down.

The Session Itself

Your Fine Art Session can be as simple or as expansive as your story calls for.

Some sessions are quiet and intimate.
Some are styled and expressive.
Some unfold over an hour. Others become a half-day or full-day storytelling experience.

We may work in the studio, in your home, or in a meaningful location. You’ll be gently guided throughout, so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands or how to stand. The goal is not perfection, it’s presence.

What This Can Become

This is where Fine Art Sessions are different.

From our session, we create more than just photographs. We create artifacts of your story, pieces you can live with and return to. That might look like:

  • Fine art photographic prints
  • Albums or custom coffee table books
  • Curated wall collections for your home
  • Sketches inspired by your images
  • Mixed-media or painted works created in my art studio
  • A combination of photographs and artwork that tells your story across mediums

Some clients come wanting photographs and discover they also want a painting.
Some come knowing they want both from the beginning.
Some decide after seeing their images for the first time.

There’s no rush and no pressure, just space to choose what feels right.

The Image Reveal

Your image reveal is the next chapter of the story.

In a private viewing, you’ll see your images for the first time, and we’ll talk through what you’re drawn to, what resonates, and what you want to keep and live with.

This is where your session becomes something tangible, pieces that move from a moment in time into your everyday life.

Photography and Art, Together

My photography and painting practices are deeply connected. Both grow out of the same values: slowing down, noticing, and honoring what’s real and meaningful.

If you choose, your photographs can become the starting point for fine art sketches or paintings created in my studio, interpretive, expressive works that translate your story into another visual language.

Is a Fine Art Session Right for You?

This experience is for you if you:

  • want more than a standard portrait session
  • care about story, meaning, and emotional depth
  • are open to a guided, creative process
  • want artwork and images that live with you over time
  • see photography as part of a larger, more intentional body of work

Investment & Planning

Because Fine Art Sessions are highly personal and can vary in scope, they are planned individually.

Session fees, artwork, and products are outlined on the Investment page. If you’re not sure what kind of experience fits your story, I’m always happy to talk it through with you.
